Come and experience the “Primary Series” of Ashtanga Yoga. The approach is based on a specialized sequencing of postures and focused breathing techniques, utilizing Ujjahi breath, Bandhas (locks) and Drishti (gaze). Although a challenging practice, modifications will be given for everyone to enjoy the poses with ease and grace.
Your journey is personal, so respect your body and honor your limitations. Several Sun Salutations will begin your practice to ignite your internal fire. Following is a series of standing and seated postures, with Vinyasa’s in between poses to keep the body heated. The finishing series include two inversions (shoulder stand and headstand), preparations can be done without coming into the full inversions. Finishing practice will be a well-deserved Savasana corpse pose!!
